Actress Melissa McCarthy turned heads with her impersonation of White House press secretary Sean Spicer on “Saturday Night Live."
In a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres, McCarthy dished on the idea of her playing Sean Spicer. One of her friends, who is the head writer for “SNL,” had asked for her take of Spicer. "I was like, 'What? How am I going to do that?' And cut to somebody saying, like, 'Boy, do you really look like that guy!' I was like, 'Wait a minute!’ The weird thing is I feel think I look so much like my dad. I feel like my dad and Sean Spicer had a baby and it's me, which makes it even weirder.”
As for what it took for her physical transformation into Spicer, Melissa revealed, "The prosthetics — the weirdest thing is that you mess with your ears and it really changes the shape of your head. And then I really got into it and asked, 'Can I have eye bags?' And the answer was, 'Yes!’"
Melissa’s daughters Vivian, 9, and Georgette, 7, couldn’t help but capture a moment with their mom as Spicer. She said, "The girls were there the second time I did it and they were like, 'Yikes!' We took weird family pictures.”
When Ellen suggested that Melissa as Spicer should be her Christmas card, Melissa responded, “I think it’s going to be!”
Along with Spicer, Melissa and husband Ben Falcone also opened up about their marriage and how they make it work. He quipped, "I think I do things that make her not laugh.” Watch!
