Over the weekend, “Extra’s” Terri Seymour caught up with James Corden at Airbnb Open Spotlight in Los Angeles, where he opened up about his wildly popular "Carpool Karaoke" segment.
Though Corden has worked with countless superstars on the "Carpool Karaoke" sessions, he let them all off the hook when questioned about who was the biggest diva, answering, "Me — I'm the biggest diva. People won’t know this… they think I’m quite approachable, but actually I won’t allow anyone to look me directly in the eye. What you can’t see is when I’m walking to the car, I’m walking on a bed of rose petals.”
During the interview, Corden confirmed the reports that Mariah Carey would be returning on "Carpool Karaoke." Last month, they were spotted shooting a skit together, which sparked the rumors. He said, “It’s just a little Christmas treat, that’s all… To all the people that have watched our clips on YouTube in the past year."
Corden also has "Carpool Karaoke" sessions with Bruno Mars and Madonna coming up, gushing, “She was great, she was wonderful. I just felt very lucky to be in her orbit for a moment.” When asked about what was on their playlist, he played coy, saying, “We did some of the classics, not all of the classics.”
James wasn’t afraid to name his dream guests for "Carpool Karaoke," answering, “Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Meghan Trainor.”
Corden had a long list of names, but could we expect President-elect Trump doing "Carpool Karaoke" in the future? He commented, “It’d be interesting, but I don’t know.”
Since the holiday season is upon us, Corden is also looking for a super luxe place to stay for vacation. He shared, “I see photos saying Beyoncé stayed in an Airbnb. I look for it [and] I can’t find it.” He continued, “That's all I want, I just want to stay in the ones Beyoncé stayed in. Does Mariah Carey use Airbnb a lot? I bet she’s finds the posh ones!”
