On Sunday’s episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” Kim Kardashian expressed her desire to expand her family with Kanye West.
Since she experienced pregnancy complications in the past, Kardashian is considering other options. During the episode, she made a visit to a doctor to see what risks she faces if she has another child. Dr. Crane told her, "You never know if you might have the same type of problem that could be more serious this time. You’re always taking a little bit of a chance. There are situations where retained placenta could be life or death.”
Kim went on to ask for a second opinion from another doctor, Dr. Wong, who said, "Using a surrogate is not an unreasonable option. If our goal is to grow your family like you want to, then a surrogate makes sense.”
After talking with the two doctors, Kim decided it wasn’t safe to get pregnant again. She explained, "If the two doctors that I trust have told me it wouldn’t be safe for me to get pregnant again, I have to listen to that. But because I don’t know anyone that has been a surrogate or used one, I didn’t really think about that as an option for me.”
Aside from finding a surrogate, Kim revealed that she was unsure about the connection she would feel to her third child if she had a surrogate. While chatting with a woman who gave birth and had a surrogate, Kim shared, "There’s no one that would feel your love [like this baby], they are literally near your heart and inside of you. My bond with my kids is so strong. I think my biggest fear is that if I had a surrogate is, would I love them the same? That’s the main thing I keep thinking about.”
By the end of the episode, Kim told her mom Kris that she is looking into surrogacy. "I’ve come to the conclusion in my mind that I can’t carry another one. So now I want to explore surrogacy.”
Though Kris expressed fear that a surrogate could run away with the baby, Kim reiterated, "I don’t think she can. Also, the best thing, I could have a new baby and have no one know and live my life for a good year before we announce it. But I don’t know if it’s for me.”
