How Lance Bass Played a Part in Anna Faris & Allison Janney’s Friendship

“Mom” stars Allison Janney & Anna Faris are glammed up on the cover of Watch!'s September/October issue! In the issue, the duo chatted about their mutual friend Lance Bass and their favorite rituals before their show airs every week.

Anna opened up about how Lance played a role in her friendship with her “Mom” co-star. She told Allison, "…Years ago – before 'Mom' was a twinkle in Chuck Lorre's eye – Lance [Bass] said to me, 'You have to hang out with Allison Janney. You are gonna love her.' You were a part of my world that was just yet waiting to happen."

Allison and Anna have become close over the years, but what kind of rituals do they have before they act for the cameras on “Mom”? Allison commented, “Our favorite ritual happens in the makeup room on show night. [Anna] comes in and says, 'I just talked to Chuck [Lorre]' – and this is more for the guest stars, because we all know it's coming. She's done it every single show and it's what we look forward to.”

Anna chimed in, “… normally it will be something dumb like, 'So you guys, I just talked to Chuck, and there's been a little bit of a change of plans. He wants everyone to deliver their lines directly into camera.' Or, 'I just talked to Chuck, and we're gonna stop right after the second act and break down the set and the Blue Man Group is gonna perform.' Or, 'I just talked to Chuck, and we're gonna do a version in Spanish right after we complete the English.'”

The fourth season of “Mom” premieres October 27 on CBS.
