Surprise Exit: Kim Zolciak Forced to Withdraw from 'Dancing with the Stars'

Reality star Kim Zolciak was reportedly blindsided by her "Dancing with the Stars" exit last night.

During the show, host Tom Bergeron explained that Kim was forced to withdraw since she missed Monday's show. Doctors had advised her not to fly back to Los Angeles after her ministroke.

He said, "The rules state, and these are rules that we've had since 2005, when we started the show. And, I'm quoting from them. 'In the instance of illness or other health-related matters affecting a participant's ability to participate in the game, they must withdraw.'"

After Zolciak was cut from the competition, her dance partner Tony Dovolani shared his thoughts. He told People, "Honestly, I didn't know I was getting excused from the competition until Tom hugged me. But the truth is, I'm just proud of her for listening to the doctors, putting her health first, putting her family and kids first, and making that the most important thing."

Later in the night, Kim took to Instagram to tell her fans, "I practiced for hours Saturday I was so excited to be there tonight! I just needed a few more days and then I'm cleared to fly! 😥#ImReallySad #ImStrong." Watch the Instagram video of her practice session!

"Extra" was with Tony backstage after the show as he opened up about her departure and sent a message to her.
