Home Run!: Uncovered Nationals Star Bryce Harper Covers ESPN's 'Body Issue'

Bryce Harper, star outfielder for the Washington Nationals. appears out of uniform on and in the new "Body Issue" of ESPN magazine, online July 6 and on newsstands July 10.

In an interview for the magazine, in which he goes tastefully nude, Harper details his diet and workout, but says he does make allowances for his sweet tooth:

"So what I do: I'll put the cookies inside the microwave for, like, 12 seconds. It's got to be 12 seconds. And then I'll grab the ice cream and I'll make an ice cream sandwich. And I mean it's unbelievable. I have my cheat days."

He credits a former coach with his distinctive swing, saying the advice he was given was to "be as sexy as possible" while hitting. That's probably easier for him than squatting 405 lbs., which he can also do. 

And making himself a part of the conversation this Fourth of July, Bryce just homered using a stars-and-stripes bat:
