‘Ultimate Survival Alaska’ Star Jimmy Gojdics Found Dead
Outdoorsman Jimmy Gojdics, who starred in National Geographic's reality show “Ultimate Survival Alaska," was found shot to death at a home near Fairbanks. He was 69.
Alaska State Troopers confirmed to “Extra” that the death is being investigated as a homicide.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting on May 3 around 3 PM. When they arrived at the residence they found Gojdics suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
His body was transported to the Alaska State Medical Examiner's Office where an autopsy will be performed.
The National Geographic website describes Gojdics – who used the last name Gaydos on “Ultimate Survival Alaska” – as a “Homesteader,” adding, “He has spent time working as a fisherman, horse wrangler and trainer, blacksmith, forest service firefighter, carpenter, ironworker on skyscrapers and large bridges, gold prospector, river guide, and wilderness guide.”
