In a joint statement to People.com, the couple revealed, "After several months of being engaged and working on our relationship, we have decided that it's best for both of us to go our separate ways. We are very sad that it has come to this point, but this is what's best for both of us individually."
It continued: "We will continue to be good friends and have nothing but great things to say about each other and wish each other the best."
In the season finale last July, Dorfman shocked fans when she chose Murrary over sales account executive Nick Viall, who said at the time he was “completely blindsided” by Dorfman’s decision.
For her part, the “Bachelorette” admitted that she had been "scared” about choosing Murray. “It has taken a lot of thought for me to get here and I know that that feeling from the very first time I saw you… I know that feeling right now, is love!”
