TMZ reports Bynes was shopping at Pookie & Sebastian, where she was described as erratic. Eyewitnesses told the site she was dancing and muttering about plastic surgery.

The “Easy A” actress then allegedly stuffed a shirt in between her arms and tried to walk out. When an employee stopped her, she reportedly asked, “Do I really have to buy this?” She eventually paid for the shirt.

Earlier in the day, People.com reports police were called to Barneys when Bynes left the department store wearing a hat she hadn’t paid for.

An NYPD official told People, “Police responded to a [petty larceny]. Amanda Bynes placed a hat on her head and left the store. Security brought her back in and called the police, but the security decided to release her… she was gone when the NYPD arrived on the scene."

The police said Amanda signed a no-trespass affidavit, which means she can no longer shop at any Barneys. No charges were filed.

Bynes spoke with People in a phone interview and claims the incident was a big misunderstanding. She said she was walking to her car to get a handbag and didn’t realize she was wearing the cap.

Amanda also said she was being “harassed.” She explained, "I had been harassed by a man – a man and this woman were basically trying to take my picture inside the store, and so I asked them to stop taking it, but they wouldn't … they were like paparazzi but undercover."

She confirmed that the store has banned her from shopping there. “I basically just had to leave,” she admitted. “They said, ‘Please, don’t shop at Barneys anymore.’ But oh well. It’s fine.”

The actress then took to Twitter to deny any wrongdoing... or giving any media quotes. Read the rants here.

Bynes was arrested for DUI in California last month.
