The newlyweds took off for a honeymoon in Kill Devil Hills, where they rented a beach house.
Jill told People, "Every morning, we would wake up and go out and sit on the deck and listen to the waves. It was beautiful. It was very private without a lot of people there yet for the season. It was so relaxing."
The getaway included a trip to the Wright Brothers National Memorial, a picnic at Cape Hatteras Island and a tour of the lighthouse there.
"It was really pretty there," Duggar said. "It was wonderful. We were able to be away for almost a full week."
Jill, who is changing her last name to Dillard, told People she loves being married.
