A solemn Jace appeared in an L.A. court in his yellow jail uniform to enter his plea. He did object when the judge said he could not have any contact with the Jaces’ young sons, Caleb, 5, and Nehemiah, 8, who are staying with April’s family.
Jace’s lawyer, Jason O. Sias, told the NY Daily News, “Mr. Jace is constantly thinking about the well-being of his children. He’s praying for them. Everything is about his concern for his children.”
April Jace was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in their home. The veteran actor reportedly called 911 and admitted he was the culprit. Jace was arrested and formally charged with murder.
Jace is to appear in court for his preliminary hearing on August 1.
“The Shield” actor Michael Jace pled not guilty to murdering his wife, April Jace, in May.
