Shonda Rhimes Is Taking Over Thursday Nights on ABC This Fall
“Extra’s” AJ Calloway had a chance to chat with TV showrunner Shonda Rhimes at the ABC upfronts.
Rhimes marveled at the fact her shows -- “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and the upcoming new drama “How to Get Away with Murder” -- will be dominating Thursday nights on ABC in the fall.
She said, “That’s pretty crazy. I have not absorbed it yet… I sort of got the news in my little hotel room in New York yesterday and haven’t really absorbed it yet.”
The TV writer added that she is really excited, but it probably won’t hit her until premiere night this fall. “Right now I just want to get the shows planned and made, and make sure they're good.”
As for what fans can expect from “How to Get Away with Murder,” Rhimes explained, “It stars Viola Davis, who plays a really amazing criminal defense attorney. It’s this great legal thriller and is sexy and edge-of-your-seat. It’s kind of this amazing ride and I love it.”
