Clooney, 52, was spotted last week dining in L.A. with the 36-year-old British attorney and friends, and sources told People.com that she was wearing a “huge ring” on her left hand.
An insider confirmed to People that Clooney popped the question. "George and Amal are trying to keep things very low-key but they also aren't really trying to hide this, it doesn't seem. I think it's like they want the people they love to know that this is real, that they plan on being together forever."
Another source told Page Six, “George and Amal hoped keep the engagement quiet, but they can’t hide the fact that they are very happy.”
Asked about the rumors, Clooney's rep said, "I don't comment on my client's personal life."
The romance rumors between Clooney and Alamuddin sprung up late last year, but Clooney denied they were dating at that time, saying they were working together on a satellite program for Syria. The Oxford-educated Alamuddin, who specializes in international law and human rights, is currently an adviser to former U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan, the special envoy to Syria.
Earlier this year, however, the romance seemed to heat up, as the two were been spotted vacationing together in gorgeous locales like Tanzania and Seychelles.
Clooney was married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993.
With a flash of a ring on that finger, there’s new speculation Hollywood's most eligible bachelor George Clooney may have proposed to girlfriend Amal Alamuddin!
