A man has been arrested after plowing his car into a crowd of people at the 2014 SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas.
Two people were killed, and 23 injured as they were exiting a show at the Mohawk bar on Red River St. around 12:30 AM Thursday morning, says the New York Daily News.
Initial reports indicate that the driver, who was behind the wheel of a silver Toyota sedan, was attempting to flee a police DUI checkpoint.
After hitting two people on a moped, he crashed into a cab. When he tried to jump out of his car and run, cops stopped him with a stun gun.
According to the paper, “The driver is facing two counts of capital murder and 23 counts of aggravated assault with a vehicle.”
