Golden Globes 2014: Portions of Red Carpet Flooded… See the Video!
Hollywood's A-listers may have to watch their step on the 2014 Golden Globes red carpet.
An area of the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where the Globes are held annually, was flooded after 5,000 gallons of water spewed from a burst pipe. See it!
The hotel issued a statement: “We can confirm that there was a malfunction with a sprinkler near the red carpet. The situation was quickly resolved. Despite the incident the red carpet will open at its regularly scheduled time. As some of the biggest names in entertainment are scheduled to attend Golden Globe Awards tonight, we wanted to give the carpet one last wash before it opened.”
According to USA Today, the Beverly Hills Fire Department worked with hotel maintenance staff to remove the water. Sections of carpet are being cut up and replaced.
E! host Ryan Seacrest tweeted some pics of the damage.
