The Olympic Gold Medalist “tore ligaments in her right knee and is out for the rest of the season,” according to the Associated Press.
Vonn, 28, crashed during the first day of races at the tournament. According to the BBC, the competition has experienced weather delays and near cancellation.
"It snowed a lot Sunday night, there was no training possible Monday on the race hill, then it rained most of Monday afternoon and evening. I know they're going to try really hard to get the race off Tuesday," Vonn told the Denver Post yesterday.
Vonn's name has been in the tabloids of late as a possible GF of Tiger Woods, which she has denied. Red Bull, her sponsor, however, had increased security for Vonn nonetheless, because of increased paparazzi.
"There's going to be an incredible amount of people here in Schladming, and it's a very small space," Vonn told reporters at a news conference on Sunday. Adding that Red Bull hired extra bodyguards "to make sure I can get in and out and not have any difficulty, but I don't expect there to be any problems. But it's better to be safe than sorry."
