Ben Affleck brought a bit of good luck to the Critics’ Choice Awards… on his hands! It turns out one of his daughters scribbled his name in ink, hoping it would help him win.
After being snubbed in the Best Director category by the Academy, Affleck took home the same prize at the Critics’ Choice Awards for his movie "Argo." As he accepted the honor he joked, "Thank you very much. I would like to thank the Academy… I'm kidding, I'm kidding! This is the one that counts."
He then noted the indecipherable drawing on his hands, giving credit to either Violet, 7, or Seraphina, 4, “My daughter wrote my name on my hand for luck. I don't know how that works, but I guess it worked, so you can look forward to seeing more of this! I want to thank my kids and I want to thank my wife, without whom I would not be anywhere, much less here.”
