Even though David Arquette and Courteney Cox fell in love on the set of "Scream" and Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn hooked up making the "The Break-Up," these Hollywood couples ultimately couldn't make it work.
Here's a look at 10 celebrity couples who found love while making movies together - but whose relationships didn't stand the test of time.
From Love On Set to the Big Breakup
David Arquette and Courteney Cox
This estranged couple met on the set of "Scream" and were married in 1999. In 2004, Courteney gave birth to their daughter, Coco. Arquette and Cox announced their separation last October.
Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn
Aniston, who had divorced Brad Pitt in 2005, began a relationship with her co-star Vince Vaughn on their comedy "The Break-Up." Alas, it was a brief union. They split in Decemeber, 2006.
Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens
Playing on-screen sweethearts in the hit "High School Musical" series, Zac and Vanessa found love off screen as well. Although they stayed together after the series ended, the two officially split last December.
Jude Law and Sienna Miller
Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend
Theron and Irish actor Townsend ("Queen of the Damned") met in 2004 on the set of the film "Head in the Clouds." The two remained a couple for almost a decade but announced their split in January, 2010.
Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe
These two met in 1992 on the set of "Quiet Days in Hollywood," a direct-to-video film, and married in 1997. Swank famously forgot to thank Lowe during her acceptance speech after winning her first Oscar in 2000. Upon winning her second Oscar in 2005, Lowe was the first person she thanked. They subsequently divorced in 2006.
Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton
Taylor and Burton famously fell in love on the set of the 1963 "Cleopatra" — and spent the next decade publicly romancing and feuding. They divorced for the first time in 1974, remarried in 1975, but then finally divorced for good in 1976.
Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins
In 1988, Sarandon began a relationship with Robbins, whom she met while they were filming "Bull Durham." Although they never married, the couple had two sons — Jack Henry (born 1989) and Miles Guthrie (born 1992). They parted ways in 2009.
Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams
Heath and Michelle fell for each other while making "Brokeback Mountain" in 2004. They lived together and had one child, a daughter Matilda Rose. After three years, the couple split in 2007. When Ledger died of an accidental overdose in 2008, Williams expressed her heartbreak and described Ledger's spirit as surviving in their daughter.
Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams
Ryan and Rachel began a relationship in 2005 while starring in the romantic drama "The Notebook," in which they played passionate young lovers. Although they split for good in 2008, Gosling said, "God bless 'The Notebook'... It introduced me to one of the great loves of my life. But people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that."
