New York Star Real Estate: De Niro, Joel and Philbin
Although many celebrities call sunny L.A. their home, the stars are also flocking to the Big Apple in search of the perfect city home. "Extra's" star real estate expert Michael Corbett takes a look at some celebrity-owned, multi-million-dollar homes now on the market.
In Manhattan's trendy West Village, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro lived in a five-story townhouse for over 30 years. De Niro purchased the home in 1975 while filming "Taxi Driver" for $190,000 and put it on the market for $14 million.
Another celeb looking to sell his Hamptons estate is singer Billy Joel. The amazing beachfront home, decorated by star designer Nate Berkus, comes complete with a chef's kitchen, sky-high ceilings and of course, incredible ocean views. Trulia.com reports the asking price for this gem is a staggering $25 million.
New York's beloved talk show host, Regis Philbin, is selling his $3.8-million Connecticut home. The mansion, located just outside New York City, is 6,000-square feet, sits on six acres and has a pool and tennis courts.
