Denise Richards' Survival Strategy Revealed in 'Mommywood'
Charlie Sheen's second ex-wife, Denise Richards, said she finally had a talk with her daughters, Sam, 7, and Lola, 6, about their father's alleged drug use. "I was lying so much to them and making excuses, and I just had to explain... what's been going on," Richards revealed in a new interview.
Denise sat down with ABC News correspondent JuJu Chang for a "Primetime Nightline: Celebrity Secrets" special, "Mommywood," which will air on Wednesday.
The new mom told Chang that getting along with Sheen for the sake of their kids is difficult. "Charlie and I, we will be in each other's life the rest of our lives, so if I want to... be mad all the time and create drama around these crazy circumstances, it's toxic energy and I just don't want that. I want to be positive and have a healthy relationship and a healthy dynamic for my family."
Denise, who was married to the controversial actor for four years, wrote a memoir, "The Real Girl Next Door," because she believes her story is relatable and universal.
