Chris Evans' Secret to Becoming 'Captain America'
Actor Chris Evans was a little apprehensive about taking on the role of "Captain America," especially when it came to beefing up.
"The tricky part was eating," Evans told "Extra's" Renee Bargh at the junket, who reportedly gained 20 pounds for the role. "Just eating everything all the time."
Evans explained that the big reveal, in which his character, Steve Rogers, transforms to Captain America, was particularly hard to do. "The birth of Captain America, it was a lot of working out that day. Any time they yelled cut, I ran off set and I was lifting weights and doing push-ups."
How did the actor feel when he put on the red, white and blue suit? "It was terrifying," confessed Evans. "The first time I put it on I was like, 'What have I gotten myself into?'"
"Captain America" marches into theaters July 22.
