Popular "American Idol" singer Pia Toscano set the record straight with "Extra" in New York City -- addressing her love life and a possible deal with Interscope Records.
The 22-year-old was spotted with "Dancing with the Stars" pro Mark Ballas after a romantic Friday night dinner, according to TMZ. "Idol" and "Dancing" are shot side-by-side at Television City in Hollywood, and the two were supposedly set up by "DWTS" contestant Chris Jericho.
Pia explained, "We're just friends. We went out for dinner once." Coincidentally, after dinner Ballas and Toscano bumped into "Extra" correspondent Terri Seymour and Paula Abdul in the valet area!
After Toscano's elimination from "Idol" last week, the singer was rumored to be signing with Interscope for a huge record contract, but her reps say it's not true. "It's been a whirlwind since I left the show. I haven't gotten the chance to talk about anything, so there's lots of opportunities and we are just focusing on the tour right now," Pia revealed.
The tour with "Idol" is happening this summer and the songstress confessed she would love to perform a duet with J.Lo. "I don't know what the song would be, but I love 'Let's Get Loud,' I wouldn't mind singing that with her -- it's such a fun song. She's amazing."
Pia also wanted to tell her diehard fans to continue watching the show despite their claims of wanting to boycott "Idol" after she got the boot. "It's not the show's fault this happened. It happens every year... good things will come of it. Keep voting for who you love."
