Is Lauren Alaina the Next 'American Idol'?
Last night's "American Idol" auditions in Nashville unveiled another strong frontrunner, 15-year-old Lauren Alaina of Rossville, Georgia.
"I think you should cry, because you're going to make 40 million people cry," said America's new favorite judge-with-a-heart, Steven Tyler, adding, "She is beyondo cute."
Randy agreed, "Best I've seen today. I'm blown away."
This season of "Idol" is tugging at the country's musical heartstrings. Lauren says she auditioned thanks to the inspiration of her cousin Holly, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor three years ago. Earlier in the week, fans met Chris Medina, whose fiancée was a victim of a horrific car accident which left her with a traumatic brain injury.
Later in Lauren's audition, with her family in tow, she sang one of her favorite songs, Aerosmith's "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" -- and Tyler along.
