"Extra's" Mario Lopez joined good friends Eva Longoria Parker and George Lopez Thursday night at Eva's Padres Contra El Cancer charity event -- where the new dad gushed all about daughter Gia.

Taking a break from daddy duty to raise money for kids fighting cancer, Mario couldn't help but talk about his baby girl, saying, "The best thing about being a dad is that I have something to really want to wake me up in the morning and rush home, 'cause I don't want to miss anything!"

Proud godmother Eva Longoria said that Gia is "Gorgeous... If she has Mario's dimples she's in trouble."

Preparing for the premiere of "Desperate Housewives" this Sunday, Eva said, "I can't believe we're premiering in our seventh season. It's so surreal."

Co-star Felicity Huffman, also in attendance, told "Extra" this is going to be a great season. "The writers are rejuvenated. The show is happy. It's good."
