'Dancing's" Jennifer Grey Inspired by Patrick Swayze
"Extra's" Terri Seymour talked with "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Jennifer Grey about all the hard work she's putting in to get ready for the dance floor -- and how Patrick Swayze inspired her.
Grey said she turned down the "DWTS" producers for years, but Swayze's death changed her mind. "I think his passing really sent it home for me. We don't know how long we're here."
The beautiful 50-year-old actress also has Swayze's wife, Lisa Niemi, on her side. "She said she was rooting for me or that she was thinking of me and that was very heartening."
Still, Grey wants to make it clear -- just because she sashayed in the '80s classic film "Dirty Dancing," it doesn't mean she herself is a trained dancer. "I was a child playing someone who never danced, and they took all day to shoot one dance number," the actress laughed, adding, "They can make anybody look like they know what they're doing if it takes 700 takes!"

She admitted she's feeling every bit of the training she's doing now. "I'm creaky. When I went to roll over to kiss my husband good morning, I was like, 'Can you come to me?'"
"Dancing with the Stars" premieres on Monday, Sept. 20 on ABC.
