Mel Gibson Case Goes to the DA
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has been investigating the Mel Gibson domestic abuse case for the past few months, now RadarOnline reports the case has been handed over to the District Attorney's Office.
A source close to the situation told the website, "The handoff has been made. The Sheriff's Department is no longer leading the investigation." Although the D.A. has been involved with the case since the beginning, they now hold control and will decide whether to pursue it.
Gibson has been under investigation for an alleged domestic violence incident at his Malibu home last January. Oksana Grigorieva, Gibson's ex-girlfriend and mother of his infant daughter, claims the actor struck her in the face and broke two teeth while she was holding their child.
