Celebs React to Prop 8 Being Overturned
Hollywood is celebrating! The controversial Proposition 8, which banned gay marriages in California, has been overturned by Federal Court Judge Vaughn Walker in San Francisco, who declared it unconstitutional.
The ruling "affirms the full legal protections and safeguards I believe everyone deserves," California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger told the Los Angeles Times.
Almost immediately, celebs took their Twitter accounts to express their heartfelt sentiments.
Kim Kardashian: "Prop 8 was struck down! This news is amazing!!!! It's about time! Congrats to everyone!"
Ellen DeGeneres: "This just in: Equality won!" with her wife, Portia de Rossi, adding "I am ecstatic that Proposition 8 has been overturned in the state of California. This is an incredibly exciting and historical day and a big step towards equal rights for all."

The decision will most likely be appealed and go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
