Country Music Stars Raise $1.7 Mil for Flood Victims
Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Martina McBride and Sheryl Crow were just a few of country music's finest who took part in Sunday's telethon that raised more than $1.7 million for victims of the Nashville floods.
The show was co-hosted by Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly, who themselves donated $100,000 and also answered phones.
Nicole Kidman accompanied Keith Urban to the event, with daughter Sunday Rose. "This town has been good to us," Urban told the audience. "We had our little girl Sunday Rose here, and we are going over there [to the call center] to do our part."
McBride told reporters, "We escaped any kind of damage, but there are kids at our daughters' school who lost everything. This happened in our city, and I want them to be connected to it. We are very proud to be Nashville. We love Nashville."
Proceeds from the telethon will benefit the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. By texting the word "GAC" to 501501, you can donate $10 directly to the CFMT, or you can donate by visiting CFMT.org.
