A 'Dark Knight' at the People's Choice Awards
Holy sweep, Batman! Superhero flick "The Dark Knight" won big at the People's Choice Awards last night, winning awards in all five of the categories in which it was nominated.
"Extra" was on the red carpet as the latest installment in the caped crusader franchise took home trophies for Favorite Cast, Superhero, Action Movie, and On-Screen Matchup for the film's pairing of Christian Bale's Batman and Heath Ledger's Joker.
When Bale accepted the award, he dedicated it to the late Ledger, who died in January 2008. "On behalf of all of the cast from the movie, thank you very much to the fans," said Christian. "Here's to Heath."
Hollywood super couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie both also walked away with wins for Favorite Leading Man and Favorite Female Action Star -- although neither the "Curious Case of Benjamin Button" actor nor his "Changeling" lady were there to accept their awards.
Other winners included Reese Witherspoon as Favorite Female Movie Star, Carrie Underwood as Favorite Female Singer, and Ellen DeGeneres as Favorite Talk Show Host.
