In her first major public appearances since the hooker scandal that shattered her husband's political career, Silda Spitzer showed up for a charity event in Manhattan on Wednesday night, reports NY Daily News.
The former First Lady of New York is an active philanthropist who founded the event's charity, Children for Children. She donned a Carolina Herrera dress and a large smile on the red carpet, bearing a brave face after her husband's very public downfall.
Silda even alluded to her ordeal while thanking attendees, saying, "I would like to thank you all for being here, with all my heart. I hope that your spring has been less eventful."
