Chesney Big Winner at ACM Awards
Kenny Chesney "Never Wanted Nothing More" after the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday night -- the country crooner nabbed the coveted Entertainer of the Year award for the fourth consecutive time, reports People magazine.
"This one is really extra special, because long before I had a hit record, the fans always came to the shows," said Chesney, "and I want to thank you guys for voting and for being there for me." This year, the ACM established a new method for picking the winner of the Entertainer of the Year award -- they let fans vote, and the winner was chosen based on the results.
Among the other top winners of the night were Garth Brooks, who was the first artist to receive the Academy's Crystal Milestone Award. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley grabbed Top Vocalist awards, while newcomer Taylor Swift, 18, dedicated her win as Top New Female Vocalist to her mother, saying, "Mom, thank you so much. I love you. This is for you!"
Dad-to-be Keith Urban, who is "very excited" to become a father, performed for the crowd, including wife Nicole Kidman, who had all eyes on her ever-growing baby belly.
