Courteney Cox Dishes the 'Dirt'
Brace yourself! Courteney cox is getting dirtier than ever.
The TV star sat down with "Extra" to talk about her upcoming season of her hit FX series, "Dirt." Cox stars as a tabloid editor in the show, which parodies her real-life experiences with stardom – and she's pulling out the stops this year. "We're just taking celebrities that are so popular and so exposed. It'll be fun to guess who they are," she said.
In one episode, guest star Tom Arnold spoofs David Hasselhoff's real-life drunken escapade where he was videotaped eating fast food off the floor. "It's kind of an interesting story," Arnold explained. "You see a clip of something and this show shows you the whole story. And it may not be what it seems."
And viewers won't only be noticing stories ripped from the headlines this season – they'll see that Courteney has dropped the "Arquette" from her last name. "My dad died," she revealed. "And I thought, well, I don't want to lose that name."
Fans can take a deep breath, because Courteney is still an "Arquette," happily married to David, one of "Dirt's" executive producers. The show was inspired by the couple's real-life run-ins with the paparazzi, and now Courteney is sounding off on moves to create laws that protect stars from pesky photogs. Cox said, "Hopefully, that will be helpful to people like Britney Spears." It will also be helpful to their daughter Coco, who's learning to hold her own. "I mean, she's so confident," she gushed. "I don't ever have to worry about her taking care of herself."
