David and Victoria are Welcomed to L.A.
L.A.'s new "It" couple has officially landed!
David and Victoria Beckham arrived at LAX late Thursday night to a mob scene, setting off an army of flashbulbs reminiscent of Beatlemania.
Friday morning, the world's most famous soccer player left his new $22 million Beverly Hills mansion to brave a chaotic mass of fans and photographers as he officially joined his L.A. Galaxy teammates for the first time.
Wearing a stylish gray suit, David held up his new Galaxy jersey - the number 23 - and said, "Family and football - sorry, soccer - got to get used to that," as the crowd roared.
America will take some getting used to, but David is ready.
"I have always looked for challenges in my life. My family has moved to Los Angeles and this is something we are proud of," he said. "Right now, everything is perfect. My family is the most important thing for me, but the soccer is second."
The Beckhams will now start settling in to Beverly Hills and preparing for the same media circus that followed them in Britain.
But they won't face a shortage of friends - sources tell People that new BFFs Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will host a welcome dinner for the couple sometime in the next few weeks.
