Carrie Ann: The Morning after Shandi's Last 'Dance'
She may have been a beauty queen, but former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey won't take home the “Dancing with the Stars” crown.
“It is sad when you have to go, but this whole experience has been so wonderful,” Shandi confessed.
It was a close call for our own Leeza Gibbons Tuesday night, landing in the bottom two and facing elimination next to Shandi in the “Dancing” death box.
“It doesn't feel so good to be in the red light,” Leeza admitted.
“I think she was shocked,” Carrie Ann said.
The judge also revealed that everyone in the studio was shocked as the show came to a sudden halt Tuesday night when the crew was forced to scramble because of an unplanned technical problem.
“We had a bit of an audio mix-up, so we had to re-tape John Ratzenberger being announced as that he was safe,” Carrie Ann dished.
But there are no problems at all for Heather Mills, who continues to blow the judges away and earn the love and affection of the American viewers.
“I didn't know that people were not warm to her,” Carrie Ann said of Sir Paul's ex. "Apparently they've been a little cold to her, but yeah; I think if people look at what she's doing on the dance floor, I think you can have nothing but respect for her."
As for basketball great Clyde Drexler, who came in dead last with the judges, Carrie Ann revealed it is his loyal fans that are keeping him alive.
“They're voting for Clyde; they're definitely voting for their favorite,” she pointed out.
Meanwhile, despite his own built-in fan base, Billy Ray Cyrus looked stunned to hear he was safe.
“That's because before they announce, he's in the back, in my ear: 'Are we going home? Are we going home? It's us. It's us,'” his dance partner, Karina Smirnoff, revealed.
Also getting their nerves in check was two-time champ Cheryl Burke, who admitted how petrified she was on judgment night.
“I'm digging my fake nails so hard though my skins, I'm almost bleeding,” she said.
As for Shandi's next move, “Extra” has learned she will soon be steaming up the pages of Stuff magazine, and she invited us to the red-hot photo shoot.
But before she strikes a sexy pose, Shandi told us she's simply looking forward to “the couch….. and a big bag of potato chips!”
