Super Bowl weekend has finally arrived, but that doesn't mean you have to super size your waistline.
Diet guru Lisa Lillien from Hungry-Girl.com is giving “Extra” the skinny on how to stay slim this super Sunday.
Most people will eat 1,200 calories and 50 grams of fat during the big game, Lisa revealed. But football and parties don't mean you have to go off your diet, thanks to Hungry Girl's must-try alternatives to your favorite foods.
“Everyone loves nachos,” Lillien insisted.
A typical order of the tasty treat can be up to 800 calories. But you can save half the calories if you use baked tortilla chips, low-fat chili and a special cheese sauce.
“If you use low-fat cheeses and some fat-free cream cheese, you can melt it really well and it becomes an awesome cheese sauce,” Lisa explained.
Jalapeno poppers really spice up the party, but they weigh you down if they are fried the conventional way. So our Hungry Girl recommends rolling them in Fiber One cereal and baking the poppers instead.
“They have 20 calories each and about one gram of fat,” Lisa told us.
To satisfy your sweet tooth, Lisa recommended, “Guilt-free chocolate cheesecake bites, they are made from fat-free cream cheese and cool whip. Each one of these has a little under 20 calories.”
And no party is complete without a few beers, but you should opt for a light beer – your waistline will thank you!
