Will Smith Finds 'Happyness' at Box Office
Will Smith and son Jaden led movie lovers on a pursuit to see their movie at the box office over the weekend, as "The Pursuit of Happyness" scored $27 million for a first place finish.
The dragon tale "Eragon" was a close second with $23.5 million, while the remake of the children's classic, "Charlotte's Web," starring Dakota Fanning," webbed its way to third.
Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio, who made history last week as the first actor to ever score two Golden Globe nominations in the same category, got very little love for his newest movie, "The Blood Diamond."
The film snatched just $6.2 million for a 7th place rank, just one place below Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto," which garnered just over $7 million over the weekend.
Box office competition will only get stiffer come the holiday weekend, as the highly anticipated "Dreamgirls," the Steven Soderbergh, George Clooney collaboration "The Good German" and the Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon flick "The Good Shepherd" all make their big screen debut.
